'Waiting for Covid'
Recorded Stories
Waiting for Covid is an engaging collection of recorded stories and reflections written during the Covid 19 pandemic. It is an incredible reminder of what the world was like in the two years after February 2020; the fears and uncertainties, the team of 5 million the teddies in windows. Waiting for Covid is told from my point of view as a GP in Aotearoa NZ; it reveals doctor’s concerns about PPE, worries about getting infected ourselves, the coming home from work routine to protect our families, the intimacy of doing telephone consultations in lockdown.
Directed by NZ actor Stuart Devenie and sound engineered by Danny Fairley of Mirrors Audio.
Many thanks to RNZCGP Wellington Faculty for financial support for the project.
Thanks also to New Zealand Doctor and The Health Media where many of the stories were first published. They have really encouraged my writing endeavours through publication of my regular column, Just Wondering.
